ActiveX refers to a type of program that can be run by the browser to perform tasks on your machine. If you are running Internet Explorer, you will need ActiveX enabled to take advantage of some screen capture functionality in use with our whiteboard application.

How to enable ActiveX in Internet Explorer (7+):

1.      Click on the ‘Tools’ menu and select “Internet Options…”

2.      Click on the “Security” tab at the tip, and select “Internet” from the content zone.

3.      Click on “Custom Level…” and scroll down until you see “ActiveX settings”

4.      Select “Prompt” (if applicable) or “Enable” for all the ActiveX settings.

5.      Click “Ok” to close out this window.

6.      Click “Ok” to close out the “Internet Options” window.

7.      If Smarthinking is still open in Internet Explorer, refresh the page to enable ActiveX.
